    Hey,

Limerick is looking mad, every second car has munster flags, the shops are all red or "Munstered" in some way, O'Connell Street has 200 Munster flags flying pride above the street and Parnell St also has flags (up on all the lamposts).

I know next weekend the city is getting europes largest screen and blocking off O'Connell Street to cars but other then the screen i heard they are having entertainment, I remember the last game in Thomond Park where the city had a festival the day before and day of the match, just wondering what are the plans to entertainment the expected 10,000 fans? I heard street entertainment, but is that all? Someone was saying a small firework display was gonna be happening, but i would have thought i'd have heard more by now.

    Any information?

Hi Mods, I just want to say I find this post offensive, the joke is clearly 10 years old and long out of date. Really knives you say, istep, how do you keep your material so fresh? Have you ever considered a job as a comedian? Please, quit the day job now, your talent is too precious to waste a minute longer.

I am going to stay at home to watch the game, I need to have all my concentration on the game.

    LIMERICK CITY BIG SCREEN

Limerick Co-ordination Office have released plans to bring the big Munster match to thousands of Limerick families free-of-charge on a big screen in the city centre next Saturday week. The Heineken Cup final will be shown on a giant 45sq metre television screen which will be situated on the junction of

    Shannon Street
    and
    O'Connell Street
, facing down in the direction of
    Patrick Street
, and it will be mounted on the back of an enormous 60ft American MAC truck. Two blocks from
    Shannon Street
    to
    Patrick Street
will be closed off to traffic all day on May 20th.

Why oh why isn't there a big ass screen in Dublin?! I've to go to Bon Jovi in Croker later on that day and it woulda been great to have a few pints whilst watching the match outside (providing el no raino) and then head on to see Jon Bon and the lads play a few tunes :D

Where's a good place in Dublin to watch it then? Fraizers?

Hell, no. Due to technological advances that has been up-graded to a shooting competition. ;) *inject some humour into things*

All in all, it should be great craic in town to-morrow, and a great opportunity to highlight all the great things Limerick has to offer. Fingers crossed for third time lucky!!

I'd love to see the atmosphere down that way actually - if I didn't have exams a roadtrip would almost be necessary :)

According to my parents, it's electric ... the next best thing to being in Cardiff would be to go home imo. For Munster-Perpignon (last time I was home), there were red flags flying all over the streets in town and apparently it got even worse for Munster-Leinster.

    I miss home now :(

    LMAO ... the happy butcher's a rugby fan! :D

Thank you so much for that! Further to my missing cool events at home, I now have the parents videoing all footage available of the homecoming ...
my dad's response: 'I didn't know you were so fond of Limerick, you spent all of secondary school complaining about it '. Well, we never had anything quite like this before :D
