Heading to Paris Wednesday and I will have thursday and thursday night to spend as I wish. What should I not miss in Paris?

    One night?

Trip up the tower and a 40 minute boat ride at dusk or later on the river every 40minutes from Pont Neuf metro bridge/metro station.

Just got back from Paris last night. Allow 2 - 3 hours if you are going to go up the Eiffel Tower, there are long queues for the lifts unless you want to climb the stairs. You also have to queue go get back down.

defo go for the boat trip (batobus is a hop on hop off all day for around 10er - great way to get around and see the city) - its slick at dusk - lights on all the buildings - and you'll see all the sites from the Seinne - the eiffel tower, notre damn, louvre, musee dorsay - really worth doing. Climbing the eiffel tower is pretty slick aswell (do while its bright)

i dunno how impressed I was with the Eiffel Tower....I thought the Bateau Mouche was cool tho. I loved Paris....walking around it doing nothing in particular is great....the atmosphere is amazing! Sit in a cafe and have a nice cafe au lait!

Oh and you have to go see that guy with the cat and the dog fast asleep on the corner near Gallerie Lafayette. He has to drug those animals!

Yeah, too many people come over here and spend all their time running around while the best thing to do is sit with a coffee/beer and watch the world go by.

And seeing as I'm off work for a week I think I'll just go and do that right now :)

Went for the boat trip after guys and it was very good. Notre Dame was the highlight for me. The Eiffel Tower I wasnt all that impressed with. I suppose the queues put me off but I thought there were far more itneresting things to see.

We did spend the day rushing around trying to cram as much in as possible so I would love to visit again now that I have seen the sites.

Stayed in Hotel des Arts in Bastille. Very basic, two beds and bathroom, but at the 30eur a night it was fantastic. Bastille is very nice too. Away from the tourists and lots of cafe's, bars, bakeries etc.

    Thanks for the help!
