    Alright lads,

I'm going in to the Fitz today and I'm going to try to start up a mixed game. 25 entry. But half pot limit for this one. There's plenty of gamble still in it.

so 7 card stud, Irish holdem, omaha hi lo and ordinary texas hold'em for u sickos amongst us.

so come in to the Fitz for a few hours and we'll keep it small and civilized.

and if anyone has any questions on whatever variations we play there'll be no problem stopping and explaining whats going on.

    see u there, d.

You might get better luck after the 4.30 freeroll. Theres usually a 50 max buyin cash game and starts around 5.30.

tx, yeah I know about the freeroll and the fifty doesnt start till about 7pm. but i figure if a few of us turn up we can start our own game. there's 3 of us so far...

actually u can call me if you've any questions, confirmations, whatever, on 087 2845684

would love to play this, but one exam left... ONLY ONE... if this type of game is on again i'll probably be able to get 2 or 3 for it... i've recently decided i'm great at Razz, so that'd be my game of choice. i really want to learn how to play several games so i can refer to myself as a poker player, and not just a holdem player. great idea doc...

Played it once, if I remember correctly you are dealt 4 hole cards as in omaha but have to discard two pre flop.

You're dealt 4 cards, and discard two after the flop.
there's a french variation where you're dealt 4 cards, discard 1 post flop, and another after the turn.

Both are good fun, wouldn't have much interest in playing them for a lot of money, but looking forward to some home games involving them soon.

    Well, that was a disaster.

Only two interested in playing, including me. Instead I managed to lose 200 in the fifty max game. Took me 6 hours to dig myself out of a 400 hole, still down 40 for the night.

Still could have been worse, tilty shelves look good when I got home.

I will be trying to get the mixed game going again but I have to work next Saturday and the tournament week is coming up in the Ftiz from the 22nd so probably won't be till after that. I'll give more notice next time and hopefully we'll get it going.

btw, Irish holdem usually means 3 cards, one discarded after the flop, but I like the sound of the French variation.

    cheers, d.
