It's a tad too busy at the bottom of the photograph. Could do with a bump in saturation and contrast.

    I agree with Fajitas.

The photo was used for a wine label and the wine came from the fussy vines in the foreground. Text was placed in the middle!

    Jeez, I'm terribly upset. :D

Nonsensical comments are even worse that negative ones...;)

I dont think much of it at all now to be honest, as was said, the foreground is too busy, but even if it was cropped, I dont think the photo would improve much, tis just not a good shot in general.

Well the photo was taken expressly for use as a wine label. The guy who made the wine was quite pleased with it. That is all that really matters. ;)

If it's a professional shot ,why the need for criticism

I must agree with Eire R.User, Yes it is quite a professional shot but also im agreeing with the guy at the top there, the shot is a bit to busy but the snowy mountains in the back really do it for me :p

I did say looking for which is not *needing*.

I have reasons for looking for a criticism which in fact do not relate directly to this photo. Thank you for your input.

why would you want vineyards with snow in the picture for a wine bottle?

theres no theme to this at all, took me a bit to realise it was a vineyard, the hill to the right throws it off i think

It looks like barbed wire moreso than a vineyard. It really throws the photograph off to be honest.

I'll take it it was a homebrewed wine, not a full company?

It needs the contrast boost to bring out the lines of the mountains in the background. It'll blow out the sky a bit, but I don't think it will do damage to it.

are you just here to waste people's time then?.... there are people who come on here (like me) to learn how they can become better at photography .... not to post pictures for criticism that they dont really want to be criticised for, and in fact want to show off because they've sold it to some inbred farmer for a few quid.

    well done!

Good God - you post a thread "Looking for criticism on this!" and start throwing your dolls out of the pram when a few negatives come rolling in...

You regard this / call this a "professional piece" in terms of a defence, the picture's medicore - IN MY OPINION... and no classification of where it sits (front of a bottle or not) should matter... It should do the job all by itself as an esthetic piece - I just think it doesn't!

    Many thanks :D

I concur. The composition is distracting and seemingly pointless, the colours are pale and dull, full of drab brown and watery sky. I know I should say something constructive, but my only real thought is that the photo should be taken completely differently.
