    Hi

Just wondering what other bikers do during the summer say when you drive into town park up the bike. Where do you put the jacket?? Have the helmet and gloves put in the case on the back of the bike, but man I dont want to hauling that jacket & leggings about.

Very noob question but hey i said i would ask rather than wondering.

I have a removeable top box on my blackbird that'll swallow the lot. Otherwise I just zip the jacket open, and walk with the helmet in hand.

my jacket is really light so if i don't want to wear it i put it in my backpack. I always carry the helmet with me - i'm supersticiuos (sp?) about leaving the helmet with the bike!

I know, leaving the helmet with the bike, as in locked to the back wheel etc, is plain dumb. Any asshole could kick it walking by and hey presto your helmet is useless when you have an accident.

Jacket has a removable lining, so not too much of a prob. Prefer to carry the helmet, for reasons given above. Big problem is the leggings, too warm to wear if you don't have some where to change. Had been thinking about something like these, but would prefer to try on first. Any ideas?

It's been a long time since I parked up anywhere public, but Jesus I can remember walking around on scorching days with my jacket on and zipped open. The inside of the thing would be soaked in about 30 mins. And it has a removeable liner!

Jacket is fabric (goretex/cordura) not leather.

i was thinking about getting these:
    http://www.getgeared.co.uk/acatalog/Outdoor_Solid_Textile_Motorcycle_Overtrousers.html

they can be put on / taken off very quickly but then again you have to carry them about. those jeans look interesting however!

edit: the cargo pants would probably suit me even better:

Yeah, mine too. Still sweat like a mofo though.

i just carry the jacket. or wear next to nothing under it (string tops ftw!) the leggings get dumped int eh box w/ the gloves and the helmet gets carried around and used for a shopping basket. its a bit cumbersome for shopping but shopping is great no matter what

I have a pair of them - I got them new from ebay so I wouldn't have to pay import duty and the came with CE pads too that are attached to the inside with velcro. I just use them for short trips - say if I was going into town (15 min ride max). I rememeber reading on here that somebody's friend came off their bike and the jeans gave them little protection but i'm not sure if they had pads too..If you're getting a pair get a size bigger because they're made small.. ;)

Thanks for the info. I'll be getting them mainly for short summer trips. I'll check out ebay now!

...And I made a purchase. I bought the greenish coloured combat pants and they came with "free" knox knee pads. Here's to short summer trips without the full leggings!

Thanks for all that.. mainly the issue is the jacket, I have a shad box on the back of the bike which holds the helmet. Removed the lining, but still sweating like a donkey.. oh well, at least the air conditioning on the bike works a treat :P

I got a pair of the Draggin Jeans last summer, well worth the buy. Used to wear them all day in work. Also the Kevlar acts like a wind blocker so some parts of your legs dont get cold while driving. Just be warned. They offer no impact protection and I would say the slide protection is grand on a nice clean road, but no use on most Irish roads. All that said, some very comfy pants to wear. Just read the washing instructions for cleaning and drying.

    Thanks,

I'll be wearning my proper leggins for inter-county trips. I just want the draggin ones for quick trips up an down the m50 and in and out of town at home. I got the knee protectors also and I have some ass armor at home too that i could put on

I got a pair of Draggin combats & found they weren't hard wearing enough, especially in the arse. I also found the kevlar seperated from the trousers after a while.

If mine do I wont be too shy about sending them back. 150 odd quid all in is a lot for trousers.

Maybe that's just the combats/cargo pants, the jeans seem to have gotten a better review.

I was in Megabikes on Wexford St (Dublin) yesterday, they had kevlar-lined trousers & jeans in stock. I didn't get a chance to look at them closely, didn't get a price & didn't catch the brand (didn't see any Draggin logos though) but it might be worth checking out.
