    Howdy,

Anyone know of and recommend a printer that could produce a few hundred thousand DL size flyers? Need them turned around pretty quickly too.

    Thanks :)

hi, regi, how many exactly do you need?
what paper stock would you want?
    have you all the artwork?
also, is is a few colour job or 1,2 colour,
and when do you need them for?

We're a graphic design co sharing with a printer, and can pass on these details and give you a quote.

Hi, I used a printing company www.printme.ie for printing some banners and presentation folders for my clients, they are very good, good services. They print everything, from banners to presentation folders to flyers to promotional gifts.

The person I dealt with was very efficient and the quality was good. I definitely would recommend them. Only thing is the printing company is small and new, but does that matter if they produce good results, they are good pricing too!!

    Regi,

Did you happen to find a place that did a good job at the right place?

I need a few thousand A6 2 colour flyers, but don't really know anyone in the trade. The quotes I'm getting are varied enough, so I've no idea where the best deal might be... should I keep looking?

The guys I am about to use are Walsh Printing.

I have been recommended to go there by 3 people who cant sing enough praises about them and the work they did.

    Heres the URL - http://www.walshcolourprint.com/contactdet.html

Thanks heggie. Didn't see your post for a few days, I've just moved over to Spain for a while.

The best quote I have so far is 8000 A6 2-colour flyers on 100gsm for e330. (8 on an A3). If needs be, I have another version of the flyer which is 1/3 A4 size (compliment slip) - it may be cheaper to print that. The artwork is in photoshop, I can export it whatever way is best for printing. Would you like to see it?

Would you be able to get a better price than that?

    cheers

Edanto, €330 excl. VAT sounds about right, but maybe a little pricy. By comparison, I've had 1,000 full-colour posters printed both sides & folded for €640 excl. VAT. Assuming you're going to an offset litho printer, setup costs etc., €330 sounds OK. Suas stuff, is it?

I try to get all my NGO stuff printed at Eco Print Ltd because they're well-priced, local, and the only eco-printer in Ireland. Good turnaround. I've heard good things about Walsh Colour Print, also Tralee Printing are cheap, but I've found them a hassle and turnaround bad quality sometimes.

You probably should use a program other than Photoshop to produce artwork, text tends to look mank.

I wouldn't mind a look at your flier.

hey edanto, i'm afraid we couldnt take a job now untill a week or 2, just out of interest have you spot colours set up in the photoshop file/ps eps ?

    Where do you work, heggie?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,809 ✭✭✭edanto

No sweat, heggie, I don't need these for a few months. I'm just planning!

btw , I don't know what it means to have spot colours set up, so the answer is probably no! I'll google it anyways.

Dada, cheers for the advice. This is the first thing I've done like this, and I don't know any progs other than PS. 'tis indeed Suas stuff, I'll send you a copy of the working draft of the flyer, could you PM me an email please? I couldn't find the one I thought I had for you.

i work for myself, graphic design, but share offices with a printers - edanto you really need to read up on preparing files for print, as it sounds like there's a lot of work to be done to yours, which:

A: will cost you more money for someone to do,
B: a printer will throw it back at you, thus missing your deadline etc
C: a printer (shouldn't) but may print it as is, giving in unexpected results...

edit: photoshop is not a great util to be preparing print ready files in, take a look at illustrator

Quark Express or Indesign are industry standard for getting files ready for print.
