Ok, some people have been waiting for oblivion others for Halo3 etc. for me it's been TDU the whole idea of the game is (imho) brilliant. So, I finnally get the thing downloaded and get to play it last night for the first time and only time so far.

My first impression is that it looks pretty good, all the described features seem to work well even creating a custom race is really easy, great...

Well no actually, is it just me or is the actually driving just wrong, I can't put my finger on exactly why, it just seems like they couldn't decide if it was to be an arcade or a simulation racer.

I'd be curious to here what others think before I go cancelling my order. cheers ;)

I've grown weary of racing games, but I agree. Something about the driving just doesn't feel right and I can't put my finger on it. I wasn't particularly in the mood to play it last night so I'll give it another go at the weekend, it just didn't do it for me.

Yep your on to something, to me it 'good' but just missing something, maybe in the handling...

Ah I'll probably get it anyway.

Yea i know, good post eh?

I think it was the car physics, and when you crash into a pole or flowers its ridiculous.

didnt enjoy this demo at all, I found it quite boring and the controls were weird, I find the majority of racing games boring except pgr, motogp or wip3out.

Easily the best demo that has come out of E3 has been Lost Planet by Capcom, if ye havent downloaded it yet your missing out on some a great lengthy demo thats bursting with amazing gameplay! Cant wait for this game to come out.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I was playing it a bit more over the weekend and I worked out what didn't "feel" right it's not PGR3 :D

By that I mean it's more simulation than PGR, the way ye can't just barrell into a corner, lock the steering hard left or right and expect it to turn just with a dab of the brake pedal, or when you drive off the road there's that drop as you leave the tarmac onto the grass, it bounces the car and causes a loss in grip! incredible :D

It is demo code so I would anticipate they'll sort the "flower garden Vs Lambo" collision issue's before release, if they haven't already as I didn't see a single motorbike anywhere in the demo and I have read about them being included in the "developers build"

My biggest gripe with the Demo is simply the lack of consistency in the car collisions, hit another "player car" and it's like hitting a wall, hit a "Backround car" and it's just seems to bounce off with little or no loss of speed or control to your own car

I do like the way surface changes affect the car, like I mentioned above and also the way the front end goes light as you crest a hill at 180, so I think I'm going to keep my order in for now.

Probably the worst demo I downloaded to date. It's defo has got a bad driving engine, it is only the demo so maybe improvements will be made.

I've been playing this demo a bit and I like it but...

Wandering through virgin on friday night I spotted Forza Motorsport for €14.99 and not having had an "old" xbox I decided that I couldn't go wrong at that price and all I can say is Roll on Forza 2, the E3 trailer did nothing for me but the original is one of the best racers I have ever played, and it's gonna be updated at xmas!

Still undecided about wheter or not to cancel my pre-order for TDU.

i love forza too :D , was always a GT fan and i found it to be one of the main reasons to own a PS but that changed when i played forza1! and now with forza2 comming out before the end of the year...
i found the demo for test drive fairly crap too, but it was a demo so ill reserve judgement till ive tried the full game

I was the same GT was the reason I bought a PS2, This GT HD for PS3 had better be a helluva lot better than the screens I saw from E3 for me to want to buy a PS3 and GTHD.
