    Re: bio-fuel production at Mallow sugar factory

    "The Minister (Mary Coughlan) said there was nothing to stop Greencore, who owns Irish Sugar, from selling or leasing the plant to commercial interests for non-food production as it was a private company and could do as it wished. The site however, has considerable development potential."

    Government green energy policy in a nutshell!?

    More or less. Everyone around us has some kind of biofuel policy worth talking about, the British, the French, Germans, hell even the oil-mad Americans with their house-sized SUVs pickups and "mini"vans are pushing biodiesel and ethanol and have a huge biofuels business.

    Cheers Bertie;
