Monitors Resolution question

    Im looking at some flat panel monitors on ebay to buy but most of them say that their max resolution is 1024 or sometimes abit more but none seem to support the 1600 that i use atm..why is this?

    The size in inches of the monitor will dictate the maximum resolution. A 15" will go to 1024x768, 17" monitors and 19" ones usually support up to 1280x760, to get the kind of resolution you want 1600+, you're talking either 20" + or 20" widescreen. The prices of monitors that do what you're looking for start to become crazily priced, I don't know why people would need that sort of resolution unless they were in the professional photography/design industries although some types shell out €700 on a monitor to just play CS:Source at 1920x1080 :confused:.

    What size "flat panel" (LCD) monitor are you looking at? 15" presumably.

    I know that, but seriously like? On my laptop if Im in 1024 it looks horirbly big..will that be the same on a 15" or 17" LCD?
