I'm travelling to the US in a while & need to bring about 50-60kg of stuff with me.

Should I ship in advance or try to get the stuff on the plane with with me???

Any experience out there? Any advice appreciated ...

Depends if its breakable or not. I brought six suitcases with me when moving. They normally charge you if you have over 4 suitcases (2 per person) but I got away with it. I dont know how much it all weighed, mostly clothes and i brought 2 carryons as well. Your only other option would be Aer Lingus Cargo or to price some of the other shippping companies like Fed-Ex, DHL or UPS and ask them for a quote.

60KGs is just 3 average suitcases. I'd say you'll be OK. The long haul flights are less fussy about this I think. Just look at huge trolleys of luggage of the average american in Dublin Airport.
