Results of MMA League Limerick

As you all know the Limerick leg of MMA League 2006 ran off without a hitch on April 22nd. Hosted by the ever gracious UL Kickboxing club, we descended on the UL Campus and found a host of eager competitors waiting to make their mark on the 2006 League Table. One of the things that greatly surprised me is a number of the fighters competing in Ring of Truth a week later in Dublin came down and competed in this event also! You have to admire the competitive spirit of those guys! We were all done and dusted by three o'clock after having seen a number of very exciting matches. As usual the League provided a relaxed and easy going atmosphere, making it easy, for first timers as well as veterans, to get into the ring and compete.

The ushers who kept the event running as quickly as humany possible - Padraigin Ni Chonfhaola and Michelle Shields.
Our intrepid cameraman Sean Leonard. The referees who made sure everything was above board Tim (again - he's everywhere) and The Tomahawk Tom haddock! For time/score keeping Fergal Quinlan and Ruth Concannon.

Not to dwell on the negative, but can i ask what the DQ was for?

there was more than one DQ and they were all for strikes to the head, we go to great lengths to make the event as safe as possible, unfortunately that means that if someone hits their opponent in the head, albeit unintentionally a DQ is most often the result.

I have some pics of the event, I'll try and get them up before I go, but as I am flying out to Turkey in the middle of Saturday night it is unlikley.

The release of the Finals of last year's MMA League will be +30 days from when I get the files back from Barry, so give him a nudge on here if you want the process hurried along!
