I started playing online recently and I just pick whatever table has the first free seat. I find myself on 6 player tables most of the time. Is there an advantage to 10 player tables?

Depends on your style of play. I would say start at full ring and build up your knowledge of the game (I'm still doing this!) and once you are happy with your fundamentals, then maybe try 6-max out.

The swings in 6-max are far more extreme in general
