I orderd eircom on the firday, I was given a go live date of 22nd of may however talking to a cus service agent he said they normally send out the modem etc etc a few days before so in my case he said around the 15th, he said plug it in when you get it and it should work, is this true? if so why the 22nd as a go live date.

I play alot of online games, mostly wow and counter-strike I've gone with the eircom 3mb package and would be greatful if anyone who plays the above games could tell me the pings they get in relation to the service.

Alt, if you could ping www.boards.ie in dos and post the results here for me it would be much appreaciated.

    regards daz.

This is very high for Eircom DSL since they reduced the interleaving in January. Gonzo's ping is similar to all other Eircom users that I have seen - its excellent ping, and very stable.

I don't suppose BT also have interleaving turned off now too?

I guess I'll find out when I go live later today.

Interestingly, my exchange has disappeared from the DSL enabled exchange list pretty much all the line checkers. Came back up yesterday on Netsource, but with a tested date sometime last month and with a fail, but before it passed for all services after two consecutive tests. *shrug*
