I love this game. Such quality. Still haven't beaten it though. Damn ridiculous difficulty spikes. I've never really felt such tension, and such relief in a game. The later timed multi-op missions can be complete bastards though.

Also, has anyone really figured out the rating system? On some levels where I thought I did ****e I got A's or S's but on others even after replaying them to get a lower time and better accuracy I still can't get it.

    Oooooh, Defibrillator pads :)

    From eurogamer:
    Trauma Center Wii at launch

Another game has been confirmed as a Wii launch title - and this time it's the turn of Trauma Center: Second Opinion, the sequel to the quirky DS medical sim.

According to IGN, you will indeed have the option to purchase a copy on the same day you pick up your Wii console - which will be some time towards the end of the year.

Once again you'll play as genius surgeon Dr Stiles, using the Wii remote to slice open and stitch up all manner of unfortunates. You'll also get to use a brand new set of defibrillator pads, rather excitingly.

The most fun you've had playing doctors and nurses since the age of 11? You never know...

have to resurect this as i got trauma center today with a brand new ds lite. legend game, the tension is unbelievable!

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 10,247 Mod ✭✭✭✭flogen

Yeah, haven't gotten my lite (yet) but I did get Trauma Centre during the week; superb game... some horribly difficult challenges that made me go ape trying to fix them, but really enjoyable... just a great concept

I think one of the best things in Trauma Centre is the really rewarding feeling you get when you finish an op and save someone!!! :D DAMN YOU G.U.I.L.T.! :D

Still haven't finished it myself yet either, stuck on a hard-as-nails multi-op

I've finshed most of the main game. I'm on the "X" missions now which are insanely difficult. Seriously, you need to be a superhuman to finish them.

Deadly game, traded in the stifling Brain Training for this on Friday, so glad I did. The concept is outstanding and the presentation is top-notch.

Even herself's engrossed! Motoring through nicely, on the intestinal aterial bursts at the moment.

The concept is good but I would have like to see a bit more variety in the game, multiple routes to curing a patient, with different effects and downsides would have been a nice addition as would a less arcade feel to the game, ie if someboy dies thats it.. Then challenge mode could then serve as the arcade section foir those that complete the game.

Most people say the story let it down, thats because there is no need to even read it, its merely a tack on, If it had a coherent plot which changed to reflect your abilties and actions then it would have been a classic.

Got it yesterday, pretty cool! 2-1 is annoying me in work today tho

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 80 ✭✭limey_tank

I did enjoy this game, but "difficulty spikes" is right. It's badly designed in that the slope in difficulty can be too steep.

I just can't do one particular, and every time I try, I nearly have a coronary with the stress. I practiced on the previous levels and got better and better scores but it still wasn't good enough.

So I stopped playing. Brain training is much more my pace...ahhh. some nice slow quiet sudoku.

This is my favorite game in years. Difficulty spikes rule!

Stuck on 2-4 Awakening since yesterday

    in other news i pre-ordered Final Fantasy 3 :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,012 ✭✭✭✭thebman

I don't know. I'm on a chapter 5 and have only had to repeat missions 3-4 times except the one I'm on now which I think is one of the last ones.

Get faster people, your just not drinking enough coke, coffee and sweets before starting. :D

I've only gotten rookie docter and master surgeon. I think everything else is either really close or doesn't exist.

On most of the hard missions, the trick is to keep the vitals above about 50 by using the green injection to get it back up. If you waste too much time doing this though you'll run out of time so when your near the end of the mission, you can start to let them drop below 50 usually which gives you enough time to finish up.

Other than the other trick is to get faster at doing everything. Hesitation can make you loose in Trauma Centre so you have to think quick and act quick sort of like surgery I suppose.

Got it ! if its any help when you get to the last 5 jobbies start on the bottom one and just cut them out one at a time when they are all cut then go back and remove them and finish them off one by one while keeping the vitals up
