Play.com prices

Dont know if anyone has noticed but on play.com when you change the prices from gb pounds to euro the euro prices are higher(and by a far bit in some instances indicating its done on purpose and not just the result of exchange rate fluctuations). Now I am not complaining about being ripped off (That ship has sailed. Paying more than others for the same good is just as Irish as drinking a guiness or eating a pack of tayto at this stage). My question is when I leave the currency in £ will my card be debited with the £ value or will I be charge the higher euro price anyway because im outside uk?

If you order in pounds, you'll be charged in pounds. It's a handy trick, as the euro prices are nearly always more expensive (in only one case did I find this not to be true).

You pay the converted Sterling price, it's nearly always cheaper

Yeah I only copped onto it a while ago:p . Cant stay mad at play tough great service(Amazon must lose some business outside UK with their extortionate delivery rates). Another thing to keep an eye on though is the fact that play change there prices quite drastically quite often I bought a dvd for 28 euros, it arrived and two days later it was only £4.99:mad:. So dont go spending a fortune on a DVD you can wait for(this is pretty general when buying a Dvd anywhere I suppose)

Do they actually charge you those Euro prices?

I always thought that they were just play.com's estimates that were erring on the side of caution. How are you billed on your credit card?

Didn't know this. I guess it's similar to the cd-wow hong kong site being the cheapest all round.(Out of all the cd-wow's)

Actually find the american cd-wow site cheaper for some films even without the $2 discount link. The Hong Kong site used to be cheapest but not anymore.

i recently bought a dvd from amazon and it was cheaper than play factoring in delivery.
You should also check the exchange rate your credit card company charge you but I think it still works out less than buying in €
