alloy wheel dent

    I hit the curb in the Mustang this morning :mad: and I pulled the rim back on the alloy wheel by about 2cm and 5cm across. Its not cracked and I'm not feeling anything unusual when I drive. Is it possible to get the dent taken out as a new wheel would set me back the bones of 350 :eek:

    It was at the hill coming out of Chapelisod on the ballyfermott side, where the road gets narrow, thought I was in the mazda for a moment :rolleyes:

    I've succesfully repaired lots of wheels in the last few year, Peugeot, Alfa, BMW and Merc !

    Basically I use very hot water ( 2 kettles) thick glove, a rubber mallet and a block of wood !

    You need the water to trickle over the affected area, the heat softens the alloy without damage but you need plenty of water to keep to hot. I use a chamois over the area to to prevent minute scratches !

    Always work out perfectly !

    Other than that there is a company near Hanlons corner, Aluweld (I think) and they could help. Outside of that a company in NI who can restore all wheels perfectly, may be expensive but it is percfection www.nulukwheels.com

    Hope that helps !

    Update;

    Went to a tyre place in Ballyfermott, United tyres (will check that later in an edit), got two new tyres and the guy beat the dent out for free :D

    Great place very friendly
