A guy i know is looking for some advice on reception of astra 3a in the midlands (for czech tv). As near as I can make out it should be possible with a 1 meter dish, but if anyone can confirm this before he invests in the dish I would appreciate it.

    Regards

Yes the Czech is just possible on a GOOD 110cm (Triax) etc. Poor on a 80cm dish. The German channels even worse.

I'd even go for a 1.4m for a good rain margin.

Thanks Watty, satellite.ie have a 1.1meter triax, which should probably do the job i think.

Can confirm. Czech package on 12525 coming in on a 1.1m Triax dish loud and clear in Sligo. Only in very heavy rain they tend to break up. The Slovac ones on 12565 much weaker. The Sat1 ones on 11515 only just coming in.
The strongest tp is @Astranet on 10862h 22000 5/6. I'd recommend a bigger dish, as Watty suggested before.
