    I have the chance to get a really cheap 20gb old ipod today.

    some questions - my friend no longer has the supplied cd - where can I get a new one, or download what I need to transfer music to it? Is there an alternative program for easier transferring? I don't have broadband so how big would they be?

    Does the ipod support wma, and can I get something to enable it to?

    Sorry for these noob questions. Thanks. :o

    IIRC, it'll import&convert WMA->AAC.
    Some alternative software is listed in the FAQ.
    iTunes,as pointed out, is downloadable from http://www.apple.com/itunes/ as is the firmware.

    In iTunes you create a new playlist, you then locate the folder where the WMA files are.

    Simply drag the files to this playlist and the deed is done. No problem.

    Yeah ITunes is free and downloadable from apple.com as stated by my learned friends. Correct me if I'm wrong though... Does not the latest ITunes convert these MP3's automatically. I just bought myself a 60GiggerBigger last night and ITunes converted all my shizzle from some format to another without a doubt. Perhaps not the same conversion as you're on about though.

    Brilliant, thanks guys. I'm in a great mood because I needed to buy a firewire card, only realised its a 1st gen ipod I'm getting so its firewire only, that annoyed me - but they mischarged me in pc world and it ended up costing me 2c. :D

    Thanks for all the info - I will stick with yamipod for the moment, and switch to itunes when I get BB back. Thanks again for all your help!
