I'm really not sure the best place to post this so move if need be Mods.
My mother is in her 70's, fit enough but can't smell anything, hasn't been able to for years. She spends her weekends in my Sisters (access to bingo etc) Today my sis brought her home, opened the door and immediatly smelt gas (My mother didn't). Turns out she had been cleaning her cooker on Thursday before she was picked up and may have turned a knob on, 4 days of gas. My mother smokes and suddenly it's dawning on me that She's getting on and that this could happen again. If my sister had not gone in today My mother would probably be dead by now, probably half the road too. Anyway, I would like to get some kind of gas sensor, something that sounds an alarm if this happens again. I've checked Ebay and there is some available, but i've been stung on that site and would rather buy here in Dublin. So if anyone knows of a device stocked in the area I would appreciate it.Oh, couldn't get through to the gas board to ask them but will try again tomorrow.

Hey thanks for the link but I'm looking for one she can put on the wall like a smoke detector. I know for a fact she wouldn't even bother turning that one on:rolleyes:

They do definitely exist - the shop i worked in on its A/C control panel had a "Gas Sensor Alarm" light. Radionics might be your best bet, they have stuff even Maplin don't.
