Trip to Portumna Forest Park yesterday, lovely place for a stroll. There are trails marked out through the woods.Weather was cloudy most of the time but still nice-although my plans to try Velvia (50) were put on hold.

I love #2 - it could use a crop though, to remove the dead leaves in the foreground.

How come you didn't use the velvia? The subtle light would have played up those greens perfectly, and the bluebells too... if it was any brighter sunshine you would have had problems with contrast I think.

That place looks pretty magical. I've yet to see a real bluebell forest for myself...

They are really nice forest shots, especially the contrast between the trees and the blubells. Out of interest what is veliva? A filter I'm guessing but what will it add? (or take away to be more correct).

Hi elven - I thought the day was too dull.Looking at the EXIF for the first three it was first: 1/80 f4.5;next two 1/100 f5 even my second bluebell post with the sunshine was 1/125 f5.6,these were with the ISO set at 200.

So using Velvia(50) would probably have meant a tripod/monopod(dont have a monopod yet),the film camera I had with me was a Nikon F4s which body alone weighs about 1.5kg/3 lbs so we had enough to carry.I wanted to enjoy the stroll and fresh air as much as taking pics.
I did take a few on Kodachrome 200 so we'll see how they turned out
