    Hey guys, question for ye.

Got a second HD for my brother in laws PC, his first one only has 40GB
and was running out of space.
He has a good few PC games and I thought a second drive
    would solve his problems.

    Heres the thing though………………………
When he goes to install a game on the new drive
he gets a "continuing this installation could cause
the system to become unstable" type message.

    Any ideas?

What operating system is the PC running ?

Was the drive formatted with a file system correctly ?

What game gives this error message ?

Okay nothing sounds out of the ordinary. Can you copy data back and forth from the new HD without error ?

Does the error message you are given allow you to dismiss it and simply install the game anyway ?

Yeah all that can be done.

The game just blocks it, wont let you continue.
I've emailed EA to see if its a game restriction.

Hmm that is unusual cant think of anything myself as to a reason why, does the installer allow you to install the game on the C:\ drive if so then it's probably a bug in EA's installer.

I'm in the same boat - a crappy 6Gb drive on my machine. But I happily install all my games (Half-Life 2, FIFA '05, Doom 3) onto my external USB drive and they run fine.

Check disk management in My Computer and see if there is anything unusual there.
