    I am going to Russia soon. AIB bank told me that there dont provide roubles does anyone know how I can get some roubles?

    I have a funny feeling you may be only able get it when you arrive as there are restrictions. Do a bit of googling and you might find some more out.

    try ringing the bank in the airport and see if you can order them in advance from them.
    I know that was the only way a friend of mine got money for Egypt (he had to book two weeks in advance of collection)

    You are quite correct. When I went there I could only get them at the border crossings. That said no one in Russia will want you to pay them in roubles, it's Dollars or Euros all the way. I only found roubles useful in MacDonalds.

    You have to be careful that you get the correct roubles as the rouble has been devalued so many times and the old banknotes are not valid. It's a common trick to pass these off on tourists.
