Get an Alpine mate. I bought one for my car and installed myself, and it was excellent. No remote or fancy stuff, but the sound was amazing... good price too. Got it from the UK.

This one looks nice tho it's a bit dearer than the ones you're looking at:

The USB lead comes out the back and is 1m long, so it can be wired into the glovebox, handy for hiding away.

Still very pleased with this JVC KDG821 unit:

I still can't believe what a really good product this is, and especially for the price.

It has a usb port into which you can plug a USB memory stick or an Ipod. It just reads the files (mp3 or wma) off the stick no problems no matter what folder they are in. It scrolls the song name, artist, and album name over 2 lines. It can handle many different bitrates and even variable bitrates. Ipods can be controlled from the headunit when plugged in. I don't know if it will control other portable mp3 players. The unit itself comes with an infra red remote control. You can also get an optional steering wheel stalk remote. It has a cd slot too, and it can read mp3s from the cd as well.
You can download images and small movies files after converting the format to a JVC type (but this is just a bit of a novelty though really).

There's so many customisable features it takes ages to go through them all. You can customise the colour of the lcd panel to a great extent and even have a different colour for night time. There's space for 3 user EQ settings as well as the built in ones. The clock time is set automatically from RDS information.

Aside from all that, it sounds great too!

Really a great buy as far as I'm concerned
