this is an interesting hand so what would you do if you were in this?

    SB has about 6,500
    bb has 8k
    utg+1 has 10K

blinds at 150/300 and coming up to the break

play has been solid enough and there is only one fish at the table and everyone else is pretending to know what there doing.

an aggressive player limps utg +1 for 300 everyone fold to sb who limps as well.
You pick up AQc and raise to 1000

utg+1 calls as does the blind.

    The flop is 8h 4h 3d

    sb checks
you check as evertime there was a bet it was gettin raised by utg+1
    utg+ 1 checks

    the turn is Ad
sb checks, bb checks , utg +1 checks

    the river is Ah
    sb checks,

    you bet out 1500,
Utg+1 thinks and raises to 4 more to 5,500
sb thinks for ages and says he would like to call but shouldnt and folds.

up to you, call for all your chips?

well what are you puttin him on?

Why not bet on the turn to see where you are? You also might get rid of any flush draws on the turn with a decent bet.

If utg+1 is loose aggressive which is what you have implied, he could be making his move on the river with any ace trying to get rid of you.

In saying that, he may have a full boat with A3 or A4 a possibility as these loose aggressive people love to play ace rag in early position. I could not put him on flush as he would have bet on the flop if he had flush draw.

By the sounds of your post, you got beat by ace rag but i would have to call in this position as he could have any ace with a worse kicker than yours and make his move.

    What team were you on?

DubTony was in a hand that went pretty much as you described.

were you in the hand or did you just witness it?

He could have anything from a total bluff, to a worse ace, to a flush, to a full house.

I have to call as his range is so wide and I beat most of it.

The whole hand was played pretty crappy, meaning that I have to call now.

Definitely call, he is probably bluffing and may be value betting a weaker hand. As dunkamania says bet the turn is good.

    I was the SB.

while I was "Pretending to know what I was doing" ;)

IMO The three of us played the hand terribly.

The re-raise on 5th st was about the best part of it.

Ah, but he left out so many other hands were he was himself victim to 7 high.

Made lay down AK PF to fresh air.

It's funny what we choose to remember!:D

i layed it down coz i thought at best i was racing and i didnt see the point in doing this early on coz i was fairly confident playing against the rest of the table so i knew i would have my chances to get more chips thats why i was pissed when i was moved table coz i was only just gettin started

hmmm ... it didn't take you long to get this one out there. Now did it? ;)

The real threat here wasn't Trippie (initially); it was NTL. With a flop like 843 it wasn't hard to think he'd probably caught some of it. What I couldn't do was put Trippie on a hand. Whatever about checking the flop (I have no doubt they both would have called it) the check on the turn was silly from my point of view. Unfortunatly I hadn't noticed the flush draw on the flop and was really more concerned with NTL's possible 43 holding.

It was only when Trippie re-raised the river that i stood up and had a good look at it. His re-raise screamed "call me". If I'd called and lost I would have been left with 4 BBs (it wasn't for all my chips). Going back over the hand in my head, it made a lot of sense. I initially thought he'd made a full house with the other Ace and a rag, and then I realised that there were 3 hearts out. His style to this point had not been to raise the river in this manner so I'd no real read and could only put him on a FH or flush. It never really occured to me that I was being bluffed.

    Nice hand Trippie. Well played.

You're not far off with my holding!

I was actually ahead on the flop, but my master plan to check raise trippie failed because it was probably the first time all day he didn't have a pop at it.

My problem at the end was I was pretty sure I had trippie beaten but I was 99.9% sure you were going to call behind me and then I was in trouble.
