Connecting mobile phone to laptop

Not sure where to post this but here goes.........

I've a motorola L6 and according to the manual one can connect it to your computer and upload/download songs/pics/whatever to it. The charger port is a standard USB 2.0 so i tried connecting a standard USB to it but i'd no drivers so it couldn't install the "hardware".

I searched the web and got a program with the drivers for most phones and it was successfully installed (the phone that is) so i thought it would be a straightforward "drag&drop" procedure to transfer files etc.

According to one of my mates, i need some sort of software in order to do this so i'm posting in the Mobiles Wanted and Computers / Technology threads to see if anyone has a way around this problem or a copy of the necessary software for sale.

You may need a particular type of (data) cable.
'Mobile Phone Tools' may be purchased from Motorola or eBay.

I had this phone and, i couldent transfer pics,mp3's just off the bat with a usb cable, your friend is right in that you need software but i got it and basically its a load of crap and didnt work for me at all. If you have a usb bluetooth adapter in your laptop that will work no bother.Hope that helps :)

Have a look at the driver pack in the download section of www.motomodders.net and see if it works for the L6. It works for my V3 anyway, and it also uses a standard USB cable.

If that works, the other tools there will let you up/download images and ringtones to the phone.
