what do ya think of this dude, my flatmate is really into his teachings, but to be honest it seems like a load of bollox to me!

lots of lovely "spiritually healing" stuff available on the official website at a "spiritually low price"*cough

I'd be sceptical the minute I see anything about "reverse aging".

    Don't know anything myself.

Meditation isn't too bad - always good to have some quiet time for reflection and whatever, but the rest is a bit... much. lol.

    Oh good god that's scary.

This is exactly what I mean though. And incidentally, diarrhoea comes on very quickly, could anyone wait for the "medicine" to be shipped out.

Yes, have heard of him. If you think all this is a load of old bollox, you might enjoy the book

"SHAM - How the gurus of the self-help movement make us helpless" by Steve Salerno

There are plenty of copies in libraries around the country. If you are a member of a library do a search on borrowbooks.ie for Salerno, Steve and then enter your details and your local branch will get it in for you.

Francis Wheen's "How Mumbo-Jumbo Conquered The World" also has an interesting take on Mr Chopra's works..

I know a few people who've studied with Deepak Chopra for ages...

They claim to have gotten a lot of ouf what they've learned from him.

Passing his teachings off as bollocks, based upon a lack of information / self importance of ones own opinion, grounded in what you've made up, seems dumber than exploring these and having good reasons for choosing. Much of his work is grounded in old indian texts, similar to the Vedas, and as I understand it, he makes such old wisdom more accessible.
