    Speaking of which..

Chuck Norris once challenged Lance Armstrong in a "Who has more testicles?" contest.

    Chuck Norris won by five!

    ... love that! :D

I find Adi Roche an inspiration.

But there are lots more examples of people in everyday life doing extraordinary things without any fanfare or attention.

I'd probably like hera bit more if shedidn't sound so whiny and desperate on telly.

"Won't someone PLEASE think of the children?"

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Bob Geldof comes across as whiny too but why should that matter in either his case or Adi's case? Neither can help the way they speak. The issues they stand for are far more important. Maybe we would all speak the same way if we saw the unspeakable suffering they have seen first hand... Maybe?

Chernobyl was recently disproved as a major trajedy and she refuses to accept it. It is nice of her to give the kids a trip though.

I mean the tone, not the actual voice. Geldof is more aggressive. ROche just sounds like she's begging to help and how awful awful AWFUL this tragedy is!

I think a 10 fold increase in cancer amongst children in the affected region, plus thousands of radiation induced birth defects could be described as a tragedy

Again, she can't help the way she speaks and again, perhaps you or I might adopt a similar tone if we witnessed what she has witnessed and again, what does it matter?

Wasn't Lance Armstrong involved in some drugs scandal? Think he took a defamation case...

Yep... apparently it's just 7 deaths short of being a major tragedy. It's just a regular tragedy at the moment.

The most inspirational thing I have ever read is "Into The Wild" by Jon Krakauer. A truly moving book, highly recommended to anyone and everyone.

Its about a reasonably wealthy straight-A student who decided to give it all up (gave his $25k savings to Oxfam) and live off the land, travelling from place to place and enjoying nature.
