If you get 128 players is the prizepool 12800Euro? Is the prizepool capped at 10k?
Is there a reg fee along with the 100 entry?

There is no reg fee, just the €100. As you mentioned if there is a full house if would make it a total of €12800.

This is to cover room hire, staff wages and food. Their will be a full dinner for all players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,806 ✭✭✭Lafortezza

So you will be paying out no more than 10,000Euro if you get 128 players? Just to be clear like.
And if you get say 150 players you will definitely turn away 22 of them?

Lafortezza, Yes the game is capped at a max of 128 players. And €10,000 will be paid out even if only say 20 people turn up. So it will be a first come first served basis.

The prize money is as follow's

    1st €5000
    2nd €2000
    Semi Finalists €500
    Quarter Finalists €250
    Last 16 €125

ok, we know that if 20 players turn up, the prize pool will be 10,000

but just to be really clear...if say 128 players show up, the prize pool will still be 10,000, with the remaining 2800 being used to cover expenses etc..right?

How does this work timewise, Id be keen to go but I gotta work that saturday night so would have to leave about 8ish, free sunday though. If its heads up knockout, is it a best of whatever or a one gamer. I would have thought even with 128 players thats gonna be what, 7 matches to win it. (128,64,32,16,8,4,2,1) so will that even last 2 days? I play heads up online a bit but havent live due to time constraints so sorry if that sounds a silly question to the more initiated.

You Should be ok to work that night as the plan is to play from 12pm to 6pm (hopefully we will be down to the last 16 at this stage). There will be a break followed by a normal multi table tournament (we haven't decided if this will be a freezeout or buyback, if it is a buy back it will be limited to a max of 2) which will start at 7pm.

The dinner break will be at 9pm and we will stay on break for about an hour and half (as the 3rd place play-off game for the world cup is on that night). After the match we will finish off the tournament.

Sunday we will start back at 12 to finish off the heads up which i guess will be done and dusted by 5pm.

We recently ran one of these competitions in Navan and it took an hour and half for the earlier rounds and just over 2 hours for the later rounds.

The Spa Hotel, are doing a deal on their rooms if anyone wishes to stay the night. It is €60 for a single room and €100 for a double room.

I hope this has answered you question.

    Thanks for all the feedback

    Hi Julius Franco,

Yes the prize pool for this tournament is €10,000 regardless if only 2 people play or if the max 128 play. To be honest at €12.50 per head for dinner and €750 for room hire for the 2 days, the €2800 doesn't cover all of our expenses when you add in staff wages.

I hope this has answered your question.

    Again thanks for your response

    Hi Hectorjelly,

I'm not sure what you mean all matches are 50bb deep?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,696 ✭✭✭Hectorjelly

    Hi Hectorjelly,

I'm not sure what you mean all matches are 50bb deep?

It means you both start with 50 big blinds.

In the structure you posted above it looks like round 1 + 2 are 50bb deep, round 3+4 you get 100bbs. Quater and semi you get 50 and the final you get 33bbs. This obv makes no sense so either im reading it wrong or its not clear.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 515 ✭✭✭WH BONNEY

Me thinks your reading it wrong.
From my reading of it the stack/bb would be as follows,

    Round 1 & 2 = 50
    Round 3 & 4 = 100
    Quarter & semi = 200
    Final = 400

    Hi Hectorjelly,

Yes the blinds will go back to 25-50 at the start of each new round. so in round 1 & 2 you start off with 50 times big blind, round 3 & 4 you will start with 100 times the bb, in the quaters and semi you will start with 200 times bb and the final will be 400 times bb.

I hope this answers your question.

Will you be guaranteeing the prize pool at 10,000 for everyone of these, regardless of numbers. Or just the first one. I live right beside the Spa Hotel, but i am away that weekend.

Congratulations to John Corry who our heads up competition after beating Paul Tierney in Final. There was a total of 91 players.

John won his way into the final after playing for over an hour and half in both the quarter final and the semi final. However the final was over in the very first hand.

Paul slow played pocket rockets and John who has 10 Jack hit two pair on the flop. John bet out, Paul raised and John pushed all in.

Everyone who was there had a great weekend and we will be doing another one in a few months time.

was there the whole weekend and i have to say for a newbie playing with jjp poker the outlook for these guys is very bright very well run tournament with the freezeout on sat night being off a very high quality. just 1 thing that lets it down a little is the fact off self deal but overall an excellent weekend. thank you jjp mania and all the staff. will for sure be playing the next 1.

I had an absolute shocker in this game, I like many others left early, Paddy Hicks, ^^DaveM above and a few other faces i reggonise all went out early from the heads up game. A side tournie was started after the first round €50 freeze out which had a good 40 odd runners.

Good event and will go again if its run again

Aces in the first hand of the final round. He must of nearly shat himself when he looked down. And followed right through when the other guy turned over two pair.

    Hi JP

Well done on a great day of poker. Well done to John Corry, he knocked me out in round 2 when his QQ beat my KK with a Q on the flop. At least he went on to win it so now I don't feel so bad...

    Roll on the next one.
