    Is Prague expensive???

I've always thought that it was cheap, but I heard from someone who was there recently that it was quite expensive?? I'm heading there whilst inter-railing this summer and well won't be the richest traveller!

    So what's the deal cheap/expensive??

Just don't go drinking in the touristy areas and you should be fine... You can expect to pay Irish prices there.

So stay away from pubs and restaurants on the main squares and Irish bars in general... although there is one Irish Bar called Molly Malones which is pretty nice and does a good full Irish breakfast and a damn good Guinness if you're homesick.

In the city center it's pretty expensive, alot of places slightly cheaper than here, some as expensive.. but if you look around you'll find much cheaper places..

if you're feeling adventurous, head up the hill from wencelas square, it's not as lively, but it's úber cheap (1.50e for a pint), and if you look around the place you can find some good pubs. They're not necessarily nice pubs but they have a decent amount of 'character' and you'd be drinking with czechs as opposed to other tourists..

I'd advise staying to the city center for a lads weekend.. i *highly* recommend picking up an 'inyourpocket' magazine as it lists all of the current events/good pubs/general advice on do's/don'ts.... here's the web site http://www.inyourpocket.com/

A minor word of warning wencelas[sp] sq is full of hookers after 9/10 at night, they'll just walk past asking 'sex?', it happens all the time, which is fine but they also have a nasty habit of surrounding you and putting their hands in your pockets...
