I broke through a very long block recently, thanks to this piece. I haven't re-reached the standard of my pieces before the block so I'd appreciate some critique, I'm hoping it will help me get back to my old standard. Cheers.

    Neverland

Spindly spider fingers deprived of puppy fat,
And collarbones just like the ridges
In the wings of a bat,
But there are ribbons askew in my hair,
    And strawberry flushed cheeks, pink
    Splotches here and there.

Slight hillocks rounded like fickle fairy mounds,
And berry-red calves whence hair was pulled
    On aesthetic grounds,
But there the skin is smoothed like it was fresh,
There are baby-sized wrists, bones covered with
    Clinging clingfilm flesh.

    Curved hips to inspire hourglass-makers,
And triangular bones that poke intent on escape
From the scarlet and the azure,
But there is the peeping pot-belly of the suckling pink piglet,
And the coming white, potential grace
    Of the duckling pale cygnet.

With the name of a fairy queen, it was always there
    That I would solemnly swear
    Never to grow up.
