engineered internal doors opinions?

I've received a quote from a potential builder and we had a brief
discussions on internal doors a few weeks back before he drew
    up the quotation.

He has quoted for engineered white oak doors, solid white oak
skirting & architraving as part of the spec of the overall house.
I've an option to drop this and go for something more standard
such as solid red deal doors (which I am familar with as we have
    them in our current house).

Has anyone here been through this choice - a 100% solid
wood door (red deal) versus engineered doors which give
the nice oak look but perhaps at the expense of decreased damage
resistance compared to a fully solid timber door ?

    One other thing -
I phoned Heitons/Buckley and they told me solid oak doors
are obtainable but at something in the region of 500-600euro
a piece (!!) and he also said they are liable to warp, etc. I
realise this is an area of advantage of the engineered door.
not to talk about the price (which is outrageously expensive
    and multimillionaire territory)

    Any opinions?

I got engineered Oak doors from Noyacks and you would never know they were Engineered.
All the edges and ends were perfect.
If you buy them I have some skirting to match for free.

I thought that engineered doors would not warp and the normal doors would?

Have you tried a place in citywest *Doras*.I got my doors from there and in six years they have not warped or cracked. They are solid pine doors.
