I'm considering changing career and I'm just wondering is there many jobs available in statistics. Presently i'm working in telecoms (i studied elec enginering) but if i was to be honest with myself i have no interest in it. I've started researching a few statistics postgrads in ucd, ucc and maynooth. I was thinking of doing a h-dip (which hopefully i'd qualify for admission as i've done a numerical course) and i'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has done such a course. What is the liklihood of finding employment after just the h-dip? or would one have to top-up the h-dip with the masters to have a reasonable chance of getting a jobs as a statistician? I'd be very appreciative if I could hear back from anyone who has any experience in this field either in ireland or abroad.
