I don't like it when people presume that everyone knows about such silly things. Elaborate man.

I read in Village that it was cancelled, and the orgs DIDNT want people attending as they would "get hassled".

edit: legalize the 'erb day, innit.

Seen as I was looking for information on a specific event, if you have that information you would know what j day is.

But.... J Day is/was a legalise cannabis event in marley park tomorrow at 2 pm, but it was supposed to be cancelled.

You can look on www.jdayireland.com but i think its been a while since it was updated.

Music: Will be limited to acoustics guitars/bongos etc. Anybody who wishes to bring along an instrument is welcome and will and if you decide to play it even better.

no wonder it was cancelled! Also, it looks like Village were just lifting that quote from the website, so I've no new information for ya AnT, sry.

If it were legalised, it would get taxed to death and you'd be moaning even more.

    Stoners are so lol.

Better taxed on it than prosecuted for it.
Also I wouldnt mind paying tax for the comfort of knowing that what i'm smoking hasnt been mixed with bits of vinyl and used motor oil, among other things.

The tax would be bearable because look at the tax we pay on alcohol already plus the amount of problems that causes. A number of aspects including the health service could potentially benefit from the legalisation of cannabis.

Down with the drunks and up with the stoners.

This really wasnt meant to be a debate on the legalisation of cannabis, as I'm sure its been through here many times before.
does anyone actually know whats happening with this thing tomorrow?

    Taken from jdayireland.com:

" "Officially" J-day Ireland has been cancelled&as such anyone there to gather for J-day could be hassled by the gardai or park rangers, however myself and a few others intend to make the best of the park facilities we are entitled to use, as in relaxation and recreation.

Further more to the best of our knowledge there are no laws to prevent clowns, jugglers, facepainters etc entering the park

Please feel free to bring a camcorder to ensure nobody misbehaves or trys to deny you your right to use the public park for recreation. "

I take this to mean that the gards are going to be turning people away, so it could end up being like the may day thing a few years ago. The camcorder thing seems like a good idea, cos one thing gards hate is to be identified on film doing something wrong.

Is that not enough information for you?

Why not just head out and see what happens? Worst case scenario, you get a nice walk in a lovely park. (Bring donuts) ;)

doesnt the idea of dopeheads actually getting something organised seem a little ironic?

Well people did show up but the guards came along and 'dispersed the crowd'.

That's what I heard when I got there around 5pm.

No presumably it means that person has been leaned on by the guards, but he saying that we should go for a relaxing day in the park anyway *wink* wink*...

which is sorta the way it has always been organised... go!
