Grainne Seoige is to leave Sky News Ireland, it was announced this afternoon.

The anchor, who has fronted the channel's Irish news service since 2004 is to join RTE.

The national broadcaster has announced that the former TG4, Nuacht and TV3 broadcaster is to front a new afternoon daytime show.

    she moves around

i would imagine that the odd time that she did the late night on Sky News she would have been pissed off

I wonder when she'll move, is it right away or does she have a contract until the end of the year (or something).

Maybe Sky could take this opportunity to drop Sky News Ireland; blame it on Grainne :D

Well, she's set for life now in RTÉ. Presenters tend to stay within RTE for the rest of their working years, if RTE consider them good.

with generous pay packets, who'd blame them for staying

Good news but why not put her on the 6.01 with Bryan Dobson? Its a perfect match! She'd be far better reading the news. They're wasting her talents if they stick her in an afternoon show!

I thought she was going to London to present on the main Sky News channel? Maybe that fell through and that's why she's moving..?

She didn't want to move to London.

Anyway... I feel Sharon Ni Bl*wme is doing a good enough job atm....

Always thought the Sky News Ireland a bit of a carreer dead end. I mean apart from beigning a newsreader what esle is there to do in Sky. They have no programming in UK and less here.
