Online $5 STT first hand I get KK in MP and bet 3BBs (90)
Fold to BB and he raises to 240. I reraise to 600. (Good or bad?)
    He calls

    Flop is Axx

He checks, I bet 350, He pushes.

    Call or fold?

    What are starting stacks?
It looks like he has AK-AJ tbh.

    Fold. Reraise PF was good.

Do you have 550 left behind and 2465 in the pot? I think I would have to call.

And move on to the next STT:confused:
It is a massive pot and you may have very little chance of cashing with 500 left, but its not a zero chance which is looking very very likely if you do call.
You could hope he too had a big pair and made a fustration all in with QQ JJ or something.

Exactly. If there is even one chance in ten he is doing this then you should call. And it is hard to be 90% sure of anything here.

I don't know that you are 90% more likely to cash with 3000 chips over 500? - still 1st level. Maybe you are maybe not.

no, you will do about 6 times as well (500% better). But sometimes he has AQ and you will win anyway.

Equally sometimes he has JJ and you will lose anyway. Having 2ce as large a stack doesn't = 2ce aslikely to cash.

I completly see where you are coming from, but the action so far screams AK/AQ to me so I'd be happy to push sometime in the next 20 hands and be 50 50 to double up. I think we must agree to disagree.

Don't get too hung up on cashing. Yes the emphasis on cashing is one of the things that makes SNGs different, but you also want to win a few.

surely he doesnt put in almost half his tank on hand 1 preflop to a big 3 bet with AJ.

He has AK (or a well played AA).
    You are drawing very thin.
These things are more than winable with 550 chips.
    I fold.

If your are going to call the 550 on an ace flop you should push the 3rd bet pre flop

I dont get that? I believe he was hoping for a call with the 3rd bet, not making it small so he could get away from it if he was reraised.

    He has A4 here sometimes.

I think the whole line is bad if you are going to fold now for an extra 550. Raise more preflop, or just call, or check behind on the flop, anything but this.

the pre flop play was fine.
im not sure about the 350 flop bet, it looks defensive.
    Unlucky flop.

Do you want JJ and QQ to fold preflop?

no i want them to call which i believe they do 90+% of the time in $5STT
3 betting 240 to 600 why bother if you are committed regardless of flop push now and take your chances

your not laying down this hand to any flop it seems so get it in you will have next to no chance to win from 500 after being pushed of a hand so early.

I think Rob is right, these things are very winable from 550.
And I was looking for a call on the third bet. I got exactly what I hoped for. Horrible flop for me and my bet was a sort of miserable "value bet" hoping to take it there and then.

I had no doubt this guy was holding an Ace after he pushed. I had to put him on AK with the preflop action. If he'd held a pair of aces I think he'd have simply called the flop bet hoping to extract more on the turn. I saw no point in hoping to catch a 1 outer (or 2 outer which would still be behind to AA.) I asked him to show me an Ace before I folded and announced my KK, but he mucked and typed 10-10. (I didn't believe him either)

Nice thing about it was that after the guy slagged me off for folding Kings, every bet I made was re-raised by all sorts of crap from all over what was quite a passive table. Obviously they thought if I could fold Kings I'd fold to any raise.

I came back to about 1800 but busted when my top 2 pair ran into Mister 10-10's slow played set .
