Sky + price query

I'm an existing user of Sky and rang to upgrade to Sky + with multiroom. I was informed that the box would be €150. I was under the assumption that it was €129.

According to the website existing UK customers get it for £89 which is €129.

    http://existing.sky.com/multiroom.asp

Also for new Irish customers it states it is €129.

    http://www.sky.com/skycom/article/0,,91069-1130664,00.html

I can't find a page online for existing Irish customers. Do I have to pay €20 extra? It was suggested to me by a friend that if I threaten to cancel my current subscription they will give it to me for €129. Any opinions?

I have multi-room and upgraded one of standard boxes to Sky+ for €79 last December.
They will be flexible on price but depending on who you talk to.
Have a look at www.digitalspy.co.uk for info on this.

If you do decide to bluff the cancellation thing, just make sure you ring in the afternoon. They're Customer service dept is is made up by mainly students in the evening time who could not give a stuff if you cancelled.

Sky don't do anything for existing customers. I've had sky for years but it would cost me more to upgrade to sky+ than it would to connect a new customer. Loyalty doesn't pay!

From what I have read, if you do not currently have multiroom and want to add multiroom to your subscription, you can get a Sky+ box as your second box for €129 and get free installation.

If you buy a sky+ box without upgrading to multiroom, then you pay something like €299 and maybe installation as well.

That offer is available until the end of June. I'm going to get Sky+ box for the bedroom now, and get a Sky HD box at Christmas for my main telly.

    Hi there,

Am an existing customer and like a twit paid 375 quid for Sky+ four weeks ago - after installation problems and zero Sky+ functionality have now logged literally hours onto woeful Sky 'customer service' and complaining to all and sundry but still to no avail. The catch in getting this installed is that the 'engineer' leaves you with the box and says it'll take up to 4 hours to register, by which time he's long gone. Read the sorry saga here:http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2054917549

When did you get it installed? I think you have 16 days to cancel and get it sent back for a full refund.
Then ring up and cancel your sub. Ring back and sign up new and get Sky+ for €129 and free installation. ;)
