Likewise, gonna win tonight come hell or high water! Or alternatively, gonna be knocked out before the break. Whichever I fancy more at the time.

If you play tonight and even think about my big blind at any stage there will be trouble.

Might head into this tonight, though i've no real interest in playing poker at the moment. maybe my lack of motivation will inspire me to play well in that tourney for the first time in months.

You tempters! I'll probably feel an irresistible force at around 8.45 now....

I'll let one of ye guys win it then. I'll stay away since ye all want to win it so badly. Then again, if I was there, the way I am playing at the mo I would be having a last shortest bet instead of a last longest bet.

Ah, last longest bet! How I love thee. Maybe we'll see your glorious resurrection sometime tonight.

I thought Reyes's goal was great, top corner, keeper had no chance.

But it was a very funny hand rounders!! :p

I really believed you had AK unfortunately the other guy really believed you too and thats why he slowplayed his trips and let you CR him on the river. :D It was a very ballsy bluff but I'm not sure about going at it from utg.

I went card dead after getting the Aces and then taking you out of your misery (lol) and eventually got short and went all-in utg for 2200 with AQ and got almost immediately called by a guy in MP for 1/3rd of his stack with KQ sooted. K high flop and that was the end of my night except for having to listen to this guy tell me how I was unlucky

Yeah it was funny alright!. When he called i really should have said "can you beat 10 high" although i think i made up for it with my reply to the wise ass lady who asked me "You didnt think he was strong?" Me "Yes i thought he was strong thats why i went all in"!.
It was only 8 handed though and it was my first lead off of the night. In a strange way im proud of what i did:D

    We live and learn!

Despite the fact I was the fourth one knocked out of the last longest best, with the other three before me out before the end of the 2nd level, I actually played some good poker but had all my 50/50s go against me. Will try to write up a blog report today. Had more action situations in 50 minutes than I usually do in 4 or 5 hours of poker!

Myself and Dub13 split the last longest as I was just going to the final table with about 3bb, which wasn't much off the stack I had all night. Just couldn't get motoring at any stage, nearly the entirety of my play after the break consisting of all in poker. Think I limped into one pot in the last 3 hours.

Got to the final table and as per the seeming laws of the short stack was the big blind, large raise on the way around and I fold the muck I had got use to all evening. Next hand I'm small blind (blinds 800 /1500 and I've got 2,900 behind after posting the blind), passed round to the button who raises to 6,000. Look down and see 99 and it's pretty much an insta call. Big blind thinks for about a minute and calls to, I'll get my coat.....

Flop comes down K Q rag, and any chance I reckoned I had is pretty much gone. Big blind pushes and gets called instantly by the button, now I'm sure I'm drawing to at best runner runner. BB turns over AQ and button AA, turn and river are QQ and there's a new chip leader and I'm out in 9th.

Upon reflection I think the call with 99 wasn't great as the BB (Table 4, seat 1 at the start of the tourney) had been playing premium hands all night, and perhaps should have folded. But to be fair I was knackered and wanted to either get a few chips together or get home as I only had one orbit of blinds left.

Nice to meet a few boardies last night and put some faces to names as I am new to the forum.

Nice to play with you HalfBaked, if only briefly...on your immediate right at the final table. BB went mad after that raising every hand and acquired a huge stack, then promptly gave it all away again to be out in 5th! Don't think you had many options given your stack size to be fair.
I ate a diet of rabbits feet and four leafed clovers for dinner (tasty! :p ) and picked up 3 boats on the first three hands I played at the FT! Ended up second to Marcus.

It was either 10K stack time, or 10pm early night in.

You to, glad to see a boardie making it to the decent money. Not surprised by hearing that of the BB, he had been at my table from the start (table 4, seat 7) and certainly liked a gamble. He did a fair amount of calling / raising of hand he shouldn't whenever he had some chips (of the hands I saw).

True, which is why I insta called. But in the cold light of day having been at that players table pretty much all evening, I knew he had a high pocket pair (he had every other time he made such a bet). After limping my way to the final table I call the only player I have seen only playing high pocket pairs (or so it seemed).

For me even with this knowledge i'd call to make a set anyway. I'd call here with any two as well though!. But i know what you mean, bit of a doom feeling knowing he'd a bigger pair but you'd still call everytime right?.

Dub finished out of the money, and I wasn't guaranteed any (they normaly pay the top six officially). Instead of Tony having to wait around to see what happened to me I offer a split to cover both our entrances. Thought it seemed fair as I had so little chips left and it was late enough.

Your right I would. Can't really get a better spot than that shortstacked with so much in the pot. But as you said it was one of those time I was almost certain I was behind a higher pocket pair.

    ty rounders

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,754 ✭✭✭ianmc38

Well i think i'm going to switch back to my normal rock like play from now on in that tourney. My attempts to play looser and less passively are backfiring as of late. I can't even remember what a live final table looks like at this stage.

    Bah humbug.

You liar. I can't even believe you played with 99. That's usually an insta-fold for you! :p

    lol
I came in just after half nine. I didn't know some of you guys were even there.
Had a slow tourny being card dead. Only played about six hands untill final two tables. I had a little under average stack all night. It was do or die when down to two tables. I got all my chips in pre-flop three times with marginal hands - KJ A9 and KQ. Doubled up on the first and took blinds on the other two which were valuable to me at the time. When there were eleven left I went all in utg with AKs and was called by KK. I hit two of my suit on the flop but no Ace or hart on the turn or river. Went out 11th.

I didn't know there were any boardies at my table. I came to table one before the break and stayed there untill I retired.......... any boardies on table one???

I was to your right for about 30min before I got knocked out around 12th,I called your all in with KJ think you had Q 10 or something and you hit your Q.You left me with 2k I then pushed with A 7 and nearly* hit the nut flush.

    *Nearly never won fcuk all.
