The Eigse Carlow Arts Festival usually starts mid June around the second or third week. It has a varied programme of art exhibitions, theatre, street theatre, music..... etc. run allover the town.

I haven't seen any advertisement for it around the place but the signs and posters usually start going up in a week or two. Keep an eye on the Nationalist for a programme of events.

Once you're *in* Kilkenny, there ain't much more left to do on this PLANET!

In fact, DoubleDare Magazine rated "Being in Kilkenny" as the third most extreme sport in the world, hot on the heals of "Installing a handsome, yet practical, Shelving unit on the side of your head" and "Mouth Fishing".

So how does one get sufficiently gnarly and radical to take part in this wondrous activity?

    Simple,

1- go to Kilkenny, stand on the main street, no particular spot.

    2- WELL DONE!!!

Feel free to write back and tell us just how amazing a feeling it is.

The author would like to distance himself from his own opinions and words, he was not of right mind at the time of writing.

getting back to what it i think the point of this thread is, there is always éigse(arts festival, which you have just missed by mere days) and...... well that pretty much covers it.
