I booked my flights yesterday with American Airlines worked out at €1135 one stop in chicago each way with only an hour inbetween connections. You can get flights with delta for around €1000 but you have to wait around in airports for connections for hours.

I have booked the orleans www.orleanscasino.com it is reasonable enough close to the strip etc www.vegas.com has a hotel search facility.

You might want to get a price from USIT. I was told it would be about €800 + TAX round trip 2nd aug - 12th aug. The AA system was down so I could't get an exact price. You may need to be under 26, not sure.

check out the www.tripadvisor.com las vegas section, i think it's a very handy resource as well as www.frommers.com for all things vegas!

i'd recommend if ur there for anything more than a week to stay in a couple of different places, you may as well utilise all the different types of resort that vegas has to offer

I'm booked into the orleans also. I got the best deal with hotels.com whihch was about $200 cheaper than the next best offer including their own website.

I'm flying out on the 26th with Delta. I believe karlh, Carrigeen and some of the crazies from Galway are on the same flight.

    Well Connie,
The Rock here. Dont attempt to spend over a grand on flights.
Get aerlingus Shannon (handy for ye) to JFK, €365 in October www.aerlingus.com
Then get an internal US flight JFK to Vegas. Just checked www.expedia.com and $323 (about €260) with America West or US Airways.
    There's your first buyin saved:D .

The Hotels in Vegas double/treble in price on Friday/Saturday nights. So get a good hotel midweek. Just checked www.expedia.com again 5star Luxor is available for $130 a night. Then move to somewhere like The Stratosphere or Circus Circus for $100 Friday/Saturday night.

Try http://www.vegas.com/ for all your vegas info & http://www.allvegaspoker.com/ reviews all the card rooms and lists the tournies & buyins

Check out the Imperial Palace - I got a week there from 21st July - 28th for $455 which I think is an excellent price and as you can see from the map it's right in the middle of the action. Nicky's experience differs slighty from mine in that almost every site I checked the price ended up more expensive than the Casinos own website. So I booked my week in the IP on their site.
As for flights I think you need to book them now because the price keeps going up. Alot of the guys got theirs for €700-€800 a few months back whereas last week I got the American Airlines via Chicago on the 21st for €1000 and I see MrPillow is now paying almost €1200 so it's climbing every week.

To fly to JFK with aerlingus return works out at €650 round trip when you add in taxes etc, cheapest connection flight from JFK to vegas I could find was €315 round trip, so that works out at €965 (knew that degree in financial maths would come in handy one day). I went with the AA flights via chicago because allthough it is €180 dearer the flight times are much better as you are not waiting around in airports for connections for hours on end, some may prefer to save a few bob but I personally hate travelling.
