Law graduate seeks legal experience.

    Hi,

I am a UCC law graduate with New York Bar qualifications seeking a position in a legal office, preferably as a legal executive. I am finding it difficult to get a job as I am neither qualified to be a secretary or a solicitor, however I do have one years experience as a legal assistant in a solicitors office.

Has anyone any advice as to what my best options are? I would greatly appreciate any tips people have as I am becoming increasingly frustrated with my lack of success in finding a job.

I have also attached my CV.

The only advice I can offer you is for the love of God, remove your personal details from that CV.

You don't know who will get their hands on your personal information and what they will do with that information.

Check out http://jobbank.fas.ie and check under "Professional, Specialist, Sciences", or one of the other area's. Good luck.

What might be an idea is to sign up for temping work specifying that you would prefer the legal side of things and this way you would get a foot in the door and who knows where that could lead to.

Anything to do with legal work is fairly specialised as Im sure you know, I share a house with a legal secretary and she said the amount of work out there for what she does is unbelieveable. She is on excellent money and never short of work, able to pick and choose what jobs she wants.
