I decided to declare my false interest to see if it actually was her.

Looks fake to me. That's a paparazzi-style photo of her rushing to/from her car, if they were really selling it they would have at least taken an actual picture of the car instead of putting Samantha Mumba's picture up there.

It definitely is her car, but whether or not she put it for sale I dont know. Would make sense though seeing as she now lives in LA and doesnt really need a car in Dublin

But the Irish singer who reached the top of the charts with Gotta Tell You and Always Come Back To Your Love at the turn of the Millennium hasn't received one bid for the 316i model which has just 19,000 miles on the clock.

Samantha, whose long promised new album has still to appear in record stores and whose film career has failed to take off, opened the auction at E22,000.

Similar cars are selling for up to E29,000.

The Dublin pop star posted a photograph of herself and boyfriend Charles Porter, the rear end of the car and a clamper's van with the advertisement.

It had been taken outside a Dublin court last September when she was let off driving charges and narrowly missed having the car clamped while she was inside.

The tagline, which many surfers took as a hoax, read: 'SAMANTHA MUMBA'S BMW 316i! Immaculate condition. 1.8 litre engine. 19,000 miles. 2003 model.

INCLUDES: tinted windows-beige leather interior, CD player, foglights and alloys.

Stunning car.' Samatha's spokesman denied that she was putting the car up for sale out of desperation.

'She is not spending time here anymore,' she said, 'so there is no point having the BMW when she is not here. She sent a text message to a few friends here in Ireland letting them know that it's on sale.

'Things are going really well for her in LA and she is in great form. She is very happy over there.' The auction will be brought to a close on Saturday after a week on the net.

I doubt anyone other than a 'proper' photographer...for example,a press photographer, would have a wide angle lens like that was taken with, never mind the Getty Image tag over the pic... Looks like a copyrighted shot, or a stock photo. Why anyone would sell that as a stock photo I wouldn't know though.
