I'm beginning to feel spoiled with all these great events! First ROT and now this to look forward to! It's always interesting when a few foreign fighters come over.

Watch out for Joe Ruddock in the bantam weight four man tournament!

Ultimate fighting Revolution 6'champions showdown' june 4th

ok guys a month to go and tickets are going fast, this show sells out well in advance,so if you want to go best get your tictets soon, the venue is the elk nightclub toomebridge,we limit tickets to 600 so everyone has a good view of the action,we also have the fights relayed to large screens above the ring and through out the venue, the ring itself is higher than a normal boxing ring so you can see the action when it hits the ground and was specially made for mma, five ropes instead of the usual four, high density foam under the canvas for fighter safety,ad some really fit ring girls!!.......

as for the fights we have PAUL'HANDS OF STONE' JENKINS taking on AIDAN'SNAKE HIPS' MARRON in the ufr weltereight title fight, paul has 29 professional wins and a veteran of KING OF THE CAGE,WEC,UC,CAGE RAGE etc,Aidan has a pro record of 12-4-0 and a well rounded fighter,

Greg loughran will take on John walsh in the clash for the lightweight title,Greg is coming of a loss to to arni isaksson in a very close fight at welterweight giving away alot of weight and will be more comforable at his normal lightweight, john is a veteran of UFR and has a very slick groundgame,

micky young will defend his FW title against scottish mma,tko and thai boxing champion James Doolan, micky inflicted james only loss in a uk show last year and james has been busting for a rematch ever since,

Tom Haddock will face Emmet'the mauler'mcnally in a MW title eliminater,Tom needs no introduction from me while emmet has never fought south of the border he is well known in the north and the UK scene(FX3),(ANGER MANAGEMENT)he has a ferocious striking style and previously had a second round stoppage over Tom,

next generations Dave Jones will take on scottish TKO champion Andy Snape who showed to be a well rounded fighter on UFR 4,

Galways Mark O'Toole will face pcc's Liam shannon, mark looked good on the last ROT,while liam has had a unbeaten start in his mma career and likes to stand and trade,

kevin mc alonan one of the most exciting young fighters in mma will take on conner collins from belfasts KMMA,

other highlights include keith bradleys encounter with sudden impact fighter Brain Tohal, keith is a world ju jitsu silver medalist, latvians the Balodis brothers who are known to be top strikers in eastern europe will be on show and mark palmer coming of a good win over imma's jonny shiels at the sp series will take on sudden impacts best new figher paul murtagh,

also we have the bantam weight championship tournament ,which includes ng's joe ruddock, latvian guntis Balodis, steve mc combe pcc and the exercet Sean kora.....all in all should be another great night of action......DOORS OPEN 3PM FIRST FIGHT 4PM,this means anyone travelling will not be to late getting home,we have no breaks once the action starts and the whole event is over within three hours!!.

Edited for ease of reading, Mod

    PAUL JENKINS(WALES) V AIDAN MARRON(PROGRESSIVE COMBAT)
Paul Jenkins is one of the most experienced fighters in the UL at the minute, coming from a Thai background he has added submission defence to his game and is extremely well rounded, also he is the most fun when he is in the ring, often talking to the crowd in the middle of the fight!
Aidan is of course the Welterweight in the country, not as experienced as Jenkins but I think he is more than capable of submitting him.

    JOHN WALSH(POINT BLANK) V GREG LOUGHRAN(PROGRESSIVE COMBAT)
The Moycullen Scumbag is back! John has been gunning for Greg for quite some time, John is stepping up after Greg's original opponent pulled out. John is known for taking his opponents down, quickly, and then submitting them quicklier! Most of you saw Greg against Arni at the most recent ROT, this should be a tremendously technical match.

    JAMES DOOLAN(DINKY NINJAS) V MICKY YOUNG(PROGRESSIVE COMBAT)
This is a match James has been waiting for, he is looking for a title shot against Micky (isn't everyone at this stage!) and hopes that he can bring home the bacon. Winner of this match faces off against Tim Murphy (if he is still in the country) for the title at the next UFR.

TOM HADDOCK(POINT BLANK) V EMMET MC NALLY(SUDDEN IMPACT)
The Tomahawk back to avenge a loss from 2 years ago. When last they faced Emmet and Tom had a tremendous back and forth tussle, I threw in the towel for Tom in the back half of the second round that night, but it was my concussion (I had fought earlier in the night) more than Tom taking any serious punishment that influenced that decision. Emmet 'Mauler' McNally is one of the most aggressive and powerful fighters I have seen in this Fair Isle, he comes barreling right in and hits very very hard! Will be a cracking fight I reckon.

    DAVE JONES(NG) V ANDY SNAPE(DINKY NINJA'S)
Dave 'Sniper' Jones of ROT refereeing fame taking on Andy Snape, I haven't had the privilege of seeing Andy fight before so I can't shed any of the mystery surrounding him, but I have had the pleasure of seeing the Sniper in action a couple times, fantastic wrestling and a ground game that just won't quit, Andy will need to have worked his escapes to deal with Dave's ground control and pounding, and what better place to learn it than SBG Scotland!

    JONNY SHIELS(IMMA) V GEROID MC NICHOL(PROGRESSIVE COMBAT)
This will be a good match, both of these men have earned their stripes fighting in the Northern promotions, Geroid has looked pretty unstoppable in his last couple of matches and will no doubt be thinking of taking it right to Jonny standing. Jonny lost to Mark Palmer in a grudge match a couple months ago at the first Semi Pro Series, but before that he took a decision win over Vinny 'El Hefe' Connolly, which as anyone on here that knows Vinny will tell you, is no mean feat. I can't decide which way I think this match is going to go to be honest, but it will definitely be aggressive and fast paced.

    KEVIN MC ALONAN(PROGRESSIVE COMBAT) V CONNER COLLINS(KMMA)
Kevin has shown in every outing he's had that if you can't defend an attacking ground game then you are getting submitted! Conner has been around a while having fought Micky Young three times so he is not shy about letting his hands fly, though he has had a lay off of a year or so, he picked a tough match to comeback to for sure!

PAUL MURTAGH V MARK PALMER (PROGRESSIVE COMBAT)
Paul Murtagh took a win from the talented submissions fighter Keiran Hughes at the last UFR, which in hindsight is great preparation for Mark Palmer, although there is a differential of about two levels of skill between Mark's ground game and Kieran's, I think this might be too much too soon for Kieran, but Mark's last match at the Semi Pro Series revealed a serious lack of conditioning, if he had gone to the second round with Jonny that night I doubt he would have won, but that is only relevant if Paul can hold off his inexorable creep toward the submission that he begins the moment the opening bell sounds. This will be an interesting match.

    MARK O'TOOLE(POINT BLANK) V Liam Shannon(PROGRESSIVE COMBAT)
Mark 'Manslaughter' O'Toole is going from fighting a guy in the weight class above him to facing the biggest guy at middleweight that I have ever seen! Liam has a back so wide it looks like he has wings, definitely the strongest guy next to the Mauler on the card. Liam has fought in the last 2 UFRs, only the most recent one being pro rules, he has dropped down from Light Heavyweight for this match so it will be interesting to see how that affects his power. Mark has the benefit of experience and slightly better technique though, so I think this will be a trememendous tussle between these two talented fighters.

    'GUNNER' BALODIS(LATVIA) V GLEN MC CLURE(PROGRESSIVE COMBAT)
I think both these fighters are off losses in UFR 5 though I am open to correction. They are both undoubtedly hungry get back to winning ways.

    BRIAN TOHIL(SUDDE IMPACT) V KEITH BRADLEY(PROGRESSIVE COMBAT)
Heavy Hitters! Brian tends to favor the ground a bit and Keith 'Quicksilver' Bradley is more of a stand up fighter, they are both pretty well rounded though so I'd expect this to be a tough fight, probably making it the distance.

    Bantamweight Title 4-man Tournament
    SEAN KORA(PCA) V JOE RUDDOCK(NG)
Joe Ruddock has impressed me every time I have seen him in the MMA League, I think this is his first full rules match, NG guys out there please correct me if I am wrong. Sean has fought in UFR 5 and the Semi pro series pulling out submission wins in each of them. I have seen Joe's ground and it is pretty good, his strength and fitness will make it hard for Sean to make things happen early I feel, and I can't wait to see how Joe's striking is, he is so tightly packed he can generate a lot of power I'm sure so this one could be all action!

    GUTIS BALODIS(SE) V STEVE MC COMBE(PCC)
The second half of the bantamweight tournament featuring two strikers, Steve is new to MMA coming from a boxing background. In his first fight in the semi pro series he was unable to get his hands to work as he was deficient in the clinch, I am sure this is a gap that will be addressed ASAP by Davey before this match, if they can get that done Steve has all the tools to be an amazing fighter at this weight. Guntis is fast becoming a journeyman of Northern MMA also and never fails to impress, he has an eye for effective striking standing up, so this could be very interesting if they decide to duke it out on the feet.

Hope this little review of the matches helps, one of the advantages of MCing is I get to know all the fighters! Just a note on tickets - the UFR shows ALWAYS sell out with massive lines outside the venue for the few tickets left for door sale so book if you want to go. The Elk is quite easy to find as well which helps!
