    Hi lads,

Ok so ive just bought a new Dell 9150 for use with my Sharp 32" LCD. The lcd has several inputs, HD, VGA, Tv tuner in. (No DVI)
The computer has a tv tuner with VGA and DVI out only. Not a HD tv tuner.

Ive tried it out this morning after getting it and the screen quality isnt good, getting fuzzy lines at the top of the page. (using VGA).

As my TV doesnt have a DVI in, I have to use VGA or HD. What would you recommend for either
    a) converting the DVI out to VGA (would quality be the same????) or
    b) get a HD tv tuner card for the PC instead????
Any recommendations for this much appreciated, thanks a million
    Hugh

What is the make & model number of the Sharp display ?

    Thanks 8t8 its a Sharp Aquos LC-32D4U.

The fuzzy lines are being displayed even with just the desktop showing
(ie not a tv tuner issue)

Also not a settings issue with the TV as ive adjusted everything...eeeverthing! The fuzzy lines go across the screen like a pulse motion

What resolution are you running at ?

According to Sharps site the native resolution of the display is 1366x768 which would be the best resolution to run it at if you have the capability. Of course if you already are then that presents a problem...

Can you see if the digital noise reduction feature can be turned off or whether it affects the VGA input ?

Also check the view mode and set it to dot by dot, if already set to dot by dot try stretch or smart stretch.

Update your graphics card drivers as well.

Try another VGA cable you never know it could be a defective one.

Is there a HDMI port on that display (they mention one of the site and in the manual) as you could get a DVI-HDMI cable and try that as a last resort if you cant get VGA operating properly.

    Yep its hdmi ready

Might try getting a dvi - hd cable in Maplin tomorrow. (any idea of cost?...ill google it!)

i'd say its just the vga cable quality. Ive tried the cable with my laptop on the tv also , same problem.

Thanks for help on this 8t8, really appreciate it.
