I'm from a family that really love their golf but i've never played a game in my life - its not something i really want to do. But i am a member of a very good pitch&putt club and though i dont get out for a game very often nor am i any good i love it when i do play.

As for the point of this thread i was just wondering if there is a snobbery from golf players towards P&P players or what do you guys think of Pitch&Putt?

No snobbery at all.. The main difference I've found is that most pitch and putters can't drive or hit a long club as well as a golfer. From 100 yards in though.. watch em if you're playing a match against them!!! ;)

i know some really good low handicap golfers, of 3 and below, and they all started with pitch and putt, i stared golf on pitch and putt at the age of 5.

We all start somewhere, snobbery in golf is usually between old people and juniors =D

We all have to learn somewhere, and pitch and putt is amazingly challenging and fun so i wont look down on ya amte =)

Pitch&Putt is probaly one of the best places to start. When i was starting out i was a member of club but mostly played pitch&putt as i couldnt hack the lenght of a full course( i was 13 at the time ).

I feel it was really beneficial as my short game is regularly pretty solid. Havent played pitch&putt in a while but on the course im off 15 ( nothing special but have only played 2 games in the last 5 months ) but should hopefully be off single figures by the end of the summer. I would more than gladly advise anyone to start with pitch&putt so have no worries there mate.

And i certainly dont look down on you for doing so, i'd say your better off staying away from the course as it there you'll find the stuck up so and so's that constantly nag and moan and look down on you:rolleyes:
