Saw them in Japan, but I didn't bother playing one. The EMGs were a big put-off.

The 7 is 27" scale too. Dunno man, the extra length tightens up the B nicely but I don't like how it makes the high E and B feel.

Whats it up with you hating emg's anyway karl?I can just picture your entire family being killed by the evil emg corparation and you swearing revenge by shattering some ear drums with dimarzios.

I'm not that rabidly opposed to EMGs, am I?

Well the story goes, one day I got an EMG 81/85 set, thought they were great at first what with the fact they were so high output, but quickly begun to really dislike them. Got some DiMarzios instead, sold off the EMGs, and I lived happily ever after, because DiMarzio have done me very well.

Yea i know what ya mean, the emg's are great but there sounds a bit sterile, theres not much character to them.Still i love my pair o 81's and if i want a more organic sound i can always play my guitar with a Dimazrio super distorsion inside.
