    Hi,

I'm thinking of buying some new guitar effects stomp boxes and i was wondering where is the best place to buy them. I notice www.thomann.de is the cheapest but are there any shops like this closer to home and with shorter delivery times and free delivery for the same price as thomann?

www.audiocity.ie is great but the stock is very very limited.

    Any help gladly received!

Thomann or Musicstore are probably your best bet, the delivery times are about a week so it's not that bad. That said you could check out Music Technology Ireland. I think they are essentially a Thomann reseller based here, they may have what you want in stock.

    Howdy, thanks for the replies.

As for what I am looking for....hmmm well thats the €1,000,000,000,000,000 question.

I suppose I'm looking for a good distortion pedal with plenty of range (possible a ProCo RAT)
And maybe a Fuzz box with plenty of zzzzzgggggdddddzzzzz (possibly a Big Muff, but i've yet to try one out)

I feel kinda guilty trying them in guitar shops then buying them online. But when you can save 30 odd quid per pedal its mad what the shops charge!

For the fuzz box maybe have a look at a fuzzface, I've been thinking about buying one of them myself for a while. They are a bit more expensive but might be worth a look.

Cool I'll look out for the fuzz face, I just listened to samples on the JimDunlop website. Sounds great. plus i trust JD, i have a wah pedal for years, still going strong.

So where can i try out these fuzz faces.

IMHO you should not feel guilty. If the shops actually want you to buy from them then they will make you a compelling offer in terms of price or service. If they don't do that, then why should you feel guilty?
