I am now both more and less convinced than I previously was.

Superman looks like Barbie's boyfriend Ken :(

Liked the trailer except for spacey...
i'd much prefer a quiet, cool luthor; not a campy, manic one..but that's just personal taste..

apart from him it looks pretty good, speical effects look very nice..liked the bit at the end too ;)

yes! i reckon spacey will make a great luthor.

    seriously looking forward to this.

They've split up. Apparently, Ken came in another box...

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Download the latest version of Itunes. For some reason, that did it for me.

Because it includes the latest version of Quicktime.

I went to get the latest quicktime recently, but was put off by the inclusion of Itunes.

Something that I always knew but have only now realised: this film is called Superman Returns. This brings up a few questions I have. Which Superman film is this a sequel too (assuming it's a proper sequel)? How long after that film is it set? What year (approx.) is it set in?

Yes, I'm not up on my Superman knowledge.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,488 ✭✭✭Goodshape

AFAIK it's a sequel to Superman 2.. not sure how close of a sequel, or how they actually plan on working that in at all (everyone seem younger in this 'sequel') but that's what I read somewhere.

Good Call it is Superman 2, superman is missing for about 6 years

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,767 ✭✭✭Hugh Hefner

Don't they realise that Clark Kent leaves and returns at the same times as Superman? I mean over the 6 year period, not when Superman goes to fight someone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,488 ✭✭✭Goodshape

Yea, it does seem that Clark was away at the same time ("..lois lane's a mommy now.." *crack*). I would have thought they'd have him hang up the cape but stick around as CK.

But in any case the Daily Planet staff have never been the most perceptive to these things... glasses on... glasses off... WOAH! disguise++!!

And didn't Lois find out the CK/Superman connection in Superman 2? If shes "still in love with you-know-who", then surly she's still in love with CK and knows it.

Probably best not to pick holes in these sorts of things :)

very true about the glasses, however at the end or Superman 2 he does somehow knock her goofy and erase her memory just by kissing her. so no plot hole there, as for the dissapearance, maybe he claimed he was transferring to another paper in another place? after all the planet offices were substantially damaged during superman 2 maybe he was laid off in a cost cutting exercise.

Eh? Don't remember that. Although I suppose I can't rememeber any mention of her having inside knowledge in Superman 3... and it's been a long, long, not long enough time since I saw Superman 4.

I think it was in Superman 4

    Nuclear man! yes baby!

Yep. Lois has her memory wiped at the end of Superman 2.

What I don't get is how she looks about 24 years old in this... was she a top reporter at the Daily Planet when she was 18?

I saw the trailer at MI:3 last night. I think it actually looks brilliant. I'm not sure how good an actor Routh will be, and I'm not crazy about the new look suit, but the trailer looked sharp as a tack.

I like the way DC are approaching films, in contrast to Marvel. Nearly all of the Marvel names have had movies made of them, and at least half have been rubbish (Punisher, Fantastic Four, Hulk, Daredevil, Elektra, etc). DC are doing it differently; one picture a year, and make them GOOD. Marvel movies seem to be running out of steam, while if DC continue the way they are going on, they will be raking the cash in for another six or seven years easily.

With Batman beautifully restarted, Superman looking good, Wonder Woman and the Flash not too far away, I wonder will we ever see a Justice League of America movie? I doubt that Green Lantern or Martian Manhunter could look good in a movie, but you can never know. Also, how sweet would it be if, two or three movies down the line, both Batman and Superman movies were running out of steam and they were to adapt the Dark Knight Returns?
"Its well past time you learned what it means to be a man!"

Big DC fan here, in case you hadn't guessed!

    Looks good.

Haha, people with real Quicktime can't get it working?
I'm using Firefox & QT Alternative and it worked fine! :p

Is this full trailer showing with MI:III now? They only had the old teaser trailer when I went to see it.
