Clearing IE History

Recently, some of my visited pages aren't deleting when I clear IEs history.

I've tried doing it both from IE and from IE properties in the control panel. I've deleted the cookies, temp internet files, history and forms, yet some pages are still appearing.

When i go into regedit, there is nothing appearing in"TypedURLs" other than the default key.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

boards is actually one of the sites that doesn't delete.

Have you unchecked Auto Complete in the following?

Go to IE Tools, then Internet Options, then Content, then Auto Complete:
    Uncheck...
    1. Web addresses
    2. User names and password form
Also, while you are there... click:
    3. Clear passwords
    4. Clear forms

Have you checked the following Security item?

Go to IE Tools, then Internet Options, then Advanced:
Scroll down to "Security" and check:

Empty temporary Internet Files folder when brower is closed.

    Then click "apply"

Limited Account? Are you doing your surfing in your administrator account or have you created a Limited Account and used that for surfing? If you use a Limited Account, you can periodically delete it, but after doing so, be sure to Start > Search > Files and Folders, for the name you had assigned for the Limitied Account and be sure it is deleted (documents and settings, etc.), too, or a record may remain.

XP2 is tenacious about retaining records. If it will not let you delete one or more of the files after you have done your Search and tried to delete them with your delete key, you may have to reboot your system before it will let you then delete the remaining files. This may also suggest that with rebooting, XP2 will save the pesky file you are trying to eliminate in System Recovery. CAUTION!!!! If you are absolutely sure that you can erase everything up to the present day, except for the most recent System Recovery record (which you can create with a second reboot after deleting the pesky files), then you can do this, but use CAUTION when doing this with System Recovery (as you will lose any opportunity to go back to an earlier date to save yourself with System Recovery for another possible reason).

Of course, a good hacker could still find something, even after the file names had been deleted. You need to get one of the disk cleaner programmes to accomplish that. GhostSurf has one in its package that only cleans out files no longer having file names. And GhostSurf takes a long time to do this... Go for a long lunch while it runs.
