I'm going to Ibiza in July for a week, have heard so much about it over the years that i have to go at least once to say ive been there,am staying near Ibiza Town, avoiding the undesirables that frequent San Antonio..anyway 1 or 2 of the days we are there id like to take a boat trip and see some undiscovered remote part of the island, has anyone done this and if so can you give me the lowdown/any links for companies that specialise in these type of trips??Cheers :)

Dunno about remote, undiscovered, parts of Ibiza(it's a small island). There is a ferry from Ibiza Town over to Formentera( a, nearby, smaller island). It's on my to-do list, for my next visit.

This is where my and my friend got all our info before going last summer. There's some stuff about ferry trips in there somewhere.

We had planned to make the trip to Formentera in the middle of the week that we were there but never got around to it (having too much fun on the main land! :)). It's about 35 minutes by ferry, but I was told that everything there is incredibly overpriced, as it's aimed at daytrippers. It does look quite stunning though - incredible beaches.

There is a boat that goes around the coast of Ibiza as well I think, stopping off various places.

I wasn't keen on San Antonio either (bit too old for all that) but ended up in the West End one night after trying to get to Cafe Del Mar in time to see the sunset (missed it as it's very hard to get taxis in August). Didn't like it at all - like being stuck in the middle of a Sky One documentary. Also got injured when a fight between 2 locals broke out in front of me!

The rest of the island was amazing though - people of all nationalities and age groups - unreal. Easy to avoid the crowds but just as easy to find them if you want to.

Be warned though... I said I wanted to go once, just to say I'd been there but I'm already planning to go back for a few days later this year! :D

I went as well, It was ok, I dont think I was in the right area, I was in san antonio bay, really didnt like the west end, there is alot of drugs there as well. I went because I was really into dance music, and yes the clubs are really amazing. Was there for tiesto and paul van dyke in amniesa. bottle of water 10 euro though. f

I would not go back all the same, just back from Pattaya in Thailand now that was a holiday:D  ;)

I'd recommend renting a car instead, the rest of the Island is amazing, Portinax, Cala St Vincente, Cala d'hort, San Jose etc, there are some really amazing beaches and small towns away from the usual hot spots of San Antonio and Ibiza town. And the scenery is truly great. I go every year myself, getting on a bit now but still like my clubbing, you can have a bit of everything, thats why its such a great place, The West end of San An is to be avoided at night though..Formentara is worth a look for the scenary alone but is massively overpriced
