16 year old wins PDC event!

    Michael van Gerwen, the next big thing in world darts, caused a big surprise by winning the Open Holland at the weekend. Its a PDC event, but its a genuine "open", so BDO players can play in it. Jelle Klaasen and Tony West also played.

    Taylor, Mardle and Manley werent playing but most of the rest of top PDC players were there, including Barney, Lloyd and Scholten. Irishman Owen Caffrey made the last 16 (over 800 played).

    That's all we need. Someone to win the world championship by the age of 18 and dominate darts for the next 25 years :)

    Fair play to him though. He must be a pure natural talent.

    Yeah can only be good for the sport. The dutch really have some top class facilities and tournaments etc to help bring through their young talent. I can see the dutch dominating the sport in the future.

    Also well done to Caffery, great to see one of our own doing well.
